Fall Wedding Inspiration – Unexpected Elegance :: Rustic Barn Wedding

I must admit it was a lot of fun seeing what each event professional could come up with using the same inspiration picture – a bouquet of hellebores. I hope you are getting inspired and that you enjoyed this just as much as I did. Today’s feature fall wedding inspiration board is by another event industry colleague, Katasha. Following is short bio about Katasha and in her own words, a summary of her storyboard.

About Katasha

Hi! Katasha Butler, here! I am the Founder and Lead Planner of K Sherrie+Company Wedding and Event Planning in Indianapolis, Indiana. It is our goal to inject glamour, style and your personality into every event we manage. I sincerely hope you are inspired by this parodoxical board: high style+agrarian sensibilities=a celebration you’ll never forget!

Summary of Inspiration Board

From the bouquet of hellebores, I took the colors and used them to create my fall wedding. I am just loving the shoes! So, luxe, so tough and so not bridal! They lend a pop of unexpectedness to the bridal ensemble. I am imagining a rustic barn wedding, with cream linens, cream draped fabric and chandeliers to lend elegant lighting to the barn. The plain cream linens will allow the reds and greens to pop. The large peridot cocktail ring and cuff are just the right accents to set of the simple, clean lines of the bridesmaids dress–either the halter by J. Crew or the strapless by Jim Hjelm. The different varieties of butler-passed wines also blend into the color theme as well as the caramelized cherries in the petite galvanized buckets.

Fall Wedding Inspiration – The Warm Colors of Fall :: Red and Green

As mentioned last Friday, I asked several industry friends to create an inspiration board to be featured here this week for our fall wedding inspiration series. I wanted to see what each of them could come up with using the same inspiration picture – a bouquet of hellebores. Today’s fall inspiration board is by my fabulous friend and mentor, Terrica. Following is a short bio and in her words, a summary of her inspiration board.

About Terrica

Fabuluxe Events is headed by the Lead Consultant, Terrica Skaggs. Terrica brings her metropolitan style to the low-country, offering every bride a fabulous party that is the envy of all her friends. She believes in creating event experiences that touches all five senses, while adding a sixth: fabulous.

Summary of Inspiration Board

Attempting to design with red and green can be frustrating as you try to void the “Christmas” look. By using varying shades of reds and greens (clarets, forest, garnet, chartreuse, etc.), you can create a unique harmonious look. The earthiness of the branches in the inspiration picture inspired me to incorporate some brown as well as go with a non-traditional ganache cake. The richness of the colors played well in the linen choices, which also helped to avoid the holiday look. Using this same palette and clean design is also a great way to have an elegant Christmas wedding without increasing the tacky factor.

Fall Wedding Inspiration – Fresh and Lively :: The Color Green

Today’s fall wedding inspiration board is by another event industry colleague and iWED pal, Carey. As mentioned here, we invited several industry friends to create an inspiration board using a bouquet of hellebores as featured in the storyboard below. Following is short bio about Carey and a summary of her inspiration board in her words.

About Me

My name is Carey and I own Lasso’d Moon Designs, a custom-designed stationery and invitation business in Vermont.

Summary of Inspiration Board

Creating this board was a fun challenge. This has been the year of COLOR and no two brides have done it the same. There were so many [colors] to choose from in the bouquet- but the green kept calling to me. There’s something about it that’s fresh and lively- perfect for anytime of the year.

My Favorite Season is Approaching

I can hardly believe that August 2008 is here. Where did all the time go? Despite that fact that August has sneaked up on me, there is a big reason why I greatly welcome it. It means that my favorite season is approaching. I absolutely love the Fall. The Fall season is so beautiful because it yields so many warm colors and textures, not too mention, it is a great season to get married outdoors. The season alone can serve as the perfect natural setting for your wedding.
With that said, I have decided to dedicate next week’s blog postings to fall wedding inspiration. Initially, I was going to create a couple of inspiration boards and post up for you. However, as I began to work on the first storyboard, I had the thought that it would be a great idea to see what other event designers could come up with using the same inspiration picture. So, I asked a few industry friends to participate.
I chose the photo to the left, a bouquet of hellebores, as the inspiration picture. This couture bouquet is very unique, stylish, and full of depth. Hellebores symbolize elegance, grace, and meekness, so I think it will yield some very interesting and inspiring storyboards for you Fall brides.
Beginning Monday, August 4, 2008, I invite you to GET INSPIRED daily on our blog for your fall wedding as we feature six uber-fabulous wedding and event professionals.
Please be sure to subscribe to the right to be notified by email or in a reader for updates. Stay tuned!
