Grey or Brown Tuxedos…What Do You Think?

Posted by Tabitha on Jul 15, 2009 in Uncategorized | 2 comments

Typically, when it comes to tuxedos I have always been a fan of the traditional black tuxedo. However, I am slowing warming up to a couple of the new color trends.
I found this grey tuxedo by fashion designer Calvin Klein. I think this one is one of the best grey tuxedos I have seen. What do you think? Are you a fan of grey tuxedos?

What about brown tuxedos?

If you will recall, a few weeks ago I put together an inspiration board that was inspired by the colors orange, aqua, and brown. It was then, that I felt in love with this chocolate tuxedo. I think brown is the new black for this wedding season and would work very well if you are hosting a fall wedding.

31 Day Wedding Blog Challenge

Posted by Tabitha on Jul 1, 2009 in Uncategorized | 1 comment

A couple of weeks ago, I attended a blogging bootcamp for wedding professionals presented by Liene Stevens of Splendid Communications and one of the things that stood out to me from her presentation is that the more you blog and are consistent in doing it, the better you will become at writing blog posts.
Now, I am writer by nature. However, as any other wedding blogger will tell you, it is often a challenge coming up with original content to write about. Inspired by Liene Stevens, I asked one of my business accountability partners and dear friend, Shanika Butts of SJB Weddings and Events, if she would be up for a blogging challenge where we would hold each other accountable to blogging every day for a month.
Shanika’s reply was “…let’s do it! 30 day challenge starting July 1st. We must!!!!”
So Carolina brides and wedding professions, please subscribe to this blog as well as to Shanika’s blog to get practical planning advice and wedding inspiration every day this month. In addition, we need your support and desire to interact with you daily on our blogs, so please leave comments on our blog posts.
Be blessed and keep evolving!

Wedding Bouquets – Need Inspiration?

Posted by Tabitha on Jun 25, 2009 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

I’ve got the answer!

Wedding Bouquets – Over 300 Designs for Every Bride is one of my favorite wedding books for inspiration. This book was first published in 2006 in Great Britain and features full-page photos of some 300 plus bridal bouquets that are very stylish, unique, and full of texture such as the one feature below.

I can’t tell you how many times I have referred this book for inspiration and have shared it with my brides. I do not just refer to the book for bouquet ideas, rather for color palette inspiration and event design ideas in general. You should check it!

It’s Earth Day!

Posted by Tabitha on Apr 22, 2009 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

“Touch the earth, love the earth, honor the earth, her plains, her valleys, her hills, and her seas; rest your spirit in her solitary places.” –Ernest Dimnet

What a glorious day! I would like to suggest that you go take a nice long walk today without your iPODs (just listen to nature’s music–the birds singing and the whistle of the wind) and see if you can take notice of the little miracles that occur everyday in nature.

I love walking this time of the year. What I enjoy the most when going on my walks is witnessing how the plants and trees have been resurrected from the winter season and I especially love the pleasant fragrances of many blooming flowers.
Truly, I am fascinated by God’s creation and because of this, I believe we should be more conscious of how we use the Earth’s natural resources as well as more conscious of what we consume. I have made quite a bit of changes in my lifestyle in the last year as I have become more aware of just how wasteful we all are and or our obsession with over consumption.
I challenge you to strive for a more sustainable lifestyle by finding ways to reduce your carbon footprint, reuse and recycle more, and to replenish the Earth (i.e. plant trees or a garden). Just imagine if we all made a little changes.
