The inspiration for this board is the Kate Spade ‘idiom’ wide enamel bangle (featured in the bottom left), that I blogged about a couple of days ago in our ‘chic summer accessories‘ blog post. As I mentioned to you then, I was so inspired by Kate Spade’s summer jewelry designs that I decided to create an inspiration board from one of her fabulous bangle designs. I chosed to use the “multi-stripe” bangle because of the colors: orange, aqua and brown. The colors are bold and beautiful, and I must admit that the color combination is ideal for a modern bride who is looking for something unique and fierce. Certainly, I love the color scheme and I hope that you find some inspiration from this mood board. Get Inspired!

Featured today, is my friend and colleague, Shanika. Following is short bio about her and a summary of her inspiration board in her words.

Summary of Inspiration Board
I started out trying to use the inspiration piece to create a traditional fall wedding, but my mind kept going in a different direction. This board shows the fun and sophisticated bride celebrating a fall wedding. This bride sees the beauty in letterpress and vintage cars and also the beauty in red socks and old school cootie catchers. I hope this board inspires some bride to bring some fun to their wedding!

The inspiration for this mood board is the yellow gown in the picture and the black damask background. In addition to the black damask print, I chose to do a black and yellow color scheme because yellow seems to be a really popular color this fashion season. It’s everywhere from dresses to handbags to shoes to sunglasses and other fashion accessories.

I decided to travel home this week to spend a few days at home with my parents and my baby sister was visiting this weekend, as well. On Sunday evening, my mother and I went to see my grandmother who resides with one of my aunts. I must say I had such a blast with them, especially my grandmother.
My grandmother is 76 years old (I think) and she still gets around like I would and is very much in her right mind (she remembers everything). She drives, grocery shops, visits friends, and loves to tell stories about her life experiences, people she knows, as well as, make people laugh. She has a very unique sense of humor. If I could describe her with one word, I would say she is FREE. She says and does as she pleases.
She and I have a special relationship that I will always cherish. We talk on the phone often. I can call her anytime day or night to talk to her. If I’m down, she always knows exactly what to say to make me feel better. She’s an advocate for me, a friend, and if I’m sick she is the one I want by my side. She is so nurturing or I’m just spoiled (lol).

Okay, what does all of this have to do with gerbera daisies? Well, I love them, they are one of my favorite flowers, and they remind me of my grandmother’s illuminating and joyful spirit. It’s also one of the many things we have in common – a love for flowers. They are so beautiful and when I see them, they make me feel happy and think of her. You can bet there will be some around my home this spring.
After spending this inspiring evening with my grandmother, mother, aunt, and cousin – laughing, eating sweet potato pie (yummy), sipping on tea, and conversing – I thought about gerbera daisies and how they make me feel so warm inside. With that said, I decided to spread my joy by making a mood board inspired by gerbera daisies. This board should serve to brighten up your day and perhaps, get you inspired for your spring wedding or social event. They are perfect for sprucing up a spring tea party. Please be sure to drop us a few lines and let us know a few things that make you happy. Enjoy!

This week’s mood board is inspired by the classic and timeless colors of black and white. This color scheme is definitely one that will never go out of style and I suspect to see a lot of these colors this upcoming wedding season (2008). Enjoy!

I have been fascinated with red wedding gowns for some time. I think they are absolutely GORGEOUS.
Most people may not even consider red as a color for their wedding mainly due to tradition of wearing white or pastels and the stigma associated with the color red. But who cares about tradition when it comes to today’s weddings, modern style and fashion. It should be all about what the bride wants and what makes her feel beautiful. RIGHT?
Red gowns in general, not only make you feel sexy, beautiful, and demands the attention of others, but they are perfect for an evening wedding affair in the late fall or winter season. If you will notice the dress to the left demands nothing but attention. It screams “I’m Hot & You’re Not” or in the words of Paris Hilton, “That’s Hot!” Having said that, this week’s mood board design was inspired by this red wedding down. Enjoy!
Fall 2007 is all about shades of grey. From grey dresses to grey shoes to grey suits, as well as hints of grey in fashion jewelry. This week’s Mood Board Inspiration came from Gabrielle Tucker of Faire La Fete. Gabrielle proposed the picture to the left as a mood board challenge on our professional network. When I saw the picture I said,
